SOUTH ASHFORD U13’s (ADYFL) vs HYTHE TOWN RED | 07/09/24

Result: 2-2
Goals: Dylan x2
Assists: Moe
Captain: Kobe
Player of The Match: Noah

A thrilling 2-2 draw start our league campaign off. Starting the game with a back 3, we started very attacking from the off. Putting behind our 6-1 defeat in the cup last season, we took the game by the horns and played some very good football, recovering well and winning back any loose balls. We could have been 1 up, but an unlucky bobble put Dylan effort just wide.
This continued for around half hour before Hythe found their way back into the game, themselves being unlucky not to go 1-0 but the number 9 instead thought he was playing rugby and tried for a conversion.
Level at half-time, we came out to a rejuvenated Hythe side. Finding ourselves 2-0 down in a tense 10 minutes. We didn’t drop our heads, and with a change of formation to a back 4 in the second half settled us in more.
A quality pass from Moe, turning and threading a pass between 2 defenders finding Dylan’s run and calmly executed finish brought the game back to 2-1, for the next 10 minutes we were more dominant on the ball, pushing forwards before finding our self’s 2-1 with the goalkeeper and Dylan finishing to the keepers right in the far side bringing us level to 2-2.
A few minutes longer and we could have stolen the game, but a fair result considering the opposition and how both teams played.

Absolute massive performance from every single person today! Everyone stepped up when it mattered most.
Should all be proud of the result!
Keep up the good work!
Today’s player of the match goes to Noah, who was not only picked out by myself, the referee also told me how impressed he was with your battling and your determination to win every ball in that midfield area and how great your attitude towards the game was.

Special mention today to Daniel & Hayden who recovered the ball well for us and being cool calm and collected in key moments and being brave when put under pressure making key decisions.
